Erdogan called on Israel to end military action in Gaza as soon as possible

Israel needs to immediately stop military action in the Gaza Strip. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made this statement on 27 January.

Speaking at a meeting with voters in the city of Izmir, the Turkish leader recalled the UN International Court of Justice’s judgement against Israel and said the Jewish state should heed the calls of the international community.

“We once again call on Israel to heed the calls of the international community and international organisations and stop the attacks and massacres [in Gaza] as soon as possible,” he was quoted as saying by TRT Haber TV channel.

Earlier, the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to take measures aimed at preventing genocide in the Palestinian enclave.
