Italian farmers came out to protest

Italian farmers staged a protest, with dozens of tractors driving along motorways.

This is reported by Rai News 24.

It is reported that dozens of tractors drove through the province of Chieti, as well as on motorways near Lazio, Sicily and Pratola-Peligna.

The demonstrators are protesting against the removal of subsidies, fuel tax hikes and synthetic meat.

Earlier, farmers dumped several haystacks at a McDonald’s fast-food restaurant in the French commune of Agen as part of their protest.

They also blocked the access for lorries to the port of Calais, from which the Channel crossing is made.
