Ukraine says the AFU is in a difficult situation because of Russian drones

The situation on the frontline is difficult for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) because of the Russian Armed Forces’ drones. This was stated by the former deputy minister for temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons of Ukraine, Georgiy Tuka. He admitted that Russian drones have a tenfold numerical superiority over the Ukrainian army’s UAVs.

“On the whole, the situation is difficult. There are no grounds for stories that next year we will seize Crimea and a year later we will be under Moscow,” Georgiy Tuka said in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel Direct.

According to the politician, on some directions of the front the situation is “the hottest”. He added that the AFU has lost its main advantage on the battlefield. We are talking about unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), in terms of the number of which the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation now exceed the Ukrainian troops by dozens of times.

In addition, Tuka drew attention to the decrease in deliveries of Western weapons to the conflict zone. In particular, he questioned the readiness of Western countries to provide Kiev with their electronic warfare equipment to use it against Russian drones.

We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, Yegor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there was a growing fear in Ukraine that the army would soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delayed the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
