The United States has launched a new strike on Houthi targets inside Yemen. Arab media reported that heavy explosions occurred in the Yemeni capital Sana’a and the city of Hodeidah.
The Central Command of the US Armed Forces has confirmed a new strike on the facilities of the Houthis on the territory of Yemen, Reuters writes.
A commentary published in the social network X says that the strike with Tomahawk missiles was carried out from the aircraft carrier Carney and was a continuation of a series of bombings to deteriorate the ability of the Houthis to attack ships in the Red Sea.
British authorities have not yet confirmed the participation of British armed forces in the new strike.
According to a Pentagon statement, the US and Britain struck 28 locations in Yemen on 12 January, using about 150 munitions.
On the night of 12 January, the US and Britain attacked more than 60 targets at 16 sites of the Houthi movement Ansar Allah in Yemen. Explosions occurred in several major cities, Sana’a airport was massively bombed. Earlier, Politico reported that representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties in the U.S. Congress disagreed over President Joe Biden’s decision to attack targets of the ruling Shiite Houthi movement in northern and central Yemen.
