West will not force Russia to accept Kiev’s conditions – RS

The collective West will not be able to “outlast” Russian Federation in the Ukrainian conflict and will not force Moscow to agree to Ukraine’s demands. This was written by the columnist of the Responsible Statecraft publication George Beeb.

According to George Beeb, Moscow does not seek to lightning break through the entire Ukrainian front line. However, the columnist of the article specified that Russia is methodically undermining Ukraine’s ability not only to wage war, but also “killing and wounding a huge number of Ukrainian soldiers, depleting Ukrainian and Western arsenals of weapons and ammunition.”

“Ukraine is short of artillery shells, and the US and Europe cannot produce new ones fast enough to meet Ukraine’s needs. Russian long-range air and missile strikes are increasingly overwhelming Ukraine’s air defence capabilities, and the West simply does not have the capacity to continue supplying Patriot missiles or other advanced air defence systems,” the journalist pointed out.

The author of the article emphasised that ending US aid to Kiev would “quickly lead to the collapse of Ukraine”.

“There is very little realistic chance that the West can outlast Russia and force it to accept peace on Ukrainian terms. The divisions in Congress over aid to Ukraine reflect these realities and are unlikely to diminish,” says the publicist.

The columnist stressed that time is not on Ukraine’s side either militarily or economically. According to the journalist, Ukraine’s position in any future negotiations will be much worse than it is now.

“The Russian army is much better managed and more skilful in tactics than it was at the beginning of the war, and Western sanctions show no sign of being able to damage the Russian economy, which is increasingly set for war,” George Beeb summarised.

Recall, earlier the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told that it was the representatives of the Collective West that prohibited Kiev to negotiate with Russia. In addition, the diplomat noted that the Russian Federation will never “bow its head” to blackmail or ultimatum.
