Carlson: Germans revolted against suicidal policies of the authorities
Germans have rebelled against the “suicidal” policy of the authorities, American journalist Tucker Carlson said in his Tucker Carlson Uncensored programme.
“Germany’s behaviour looks suicidal. The German government has allowed the Biden administration to destroy their main source of natural gas, Nord Stream, and it has crippled the German economy for many decades to come, if it ever recovers from this,” he said.
Tucker added that German authorities have now started to harass farmers.
“Farms are the sources of food. This will lead to famine. Such an impression that the country is determined to kill itself,” the journalist noted.
Farmers have been protesting in Germany since the beginning of the year because the German government announced budget-saving measures in December. It is supposed to cancel subsidies on diesel fuel, which would bring the treasury 440 million euros, as well as preferential taxation of vehicles used in forestry and agriculture (this will save another 480 million).
Last week, government spokesman Steffen Hebeestreit said that instead of abolishing diesel subsidies overnight, the costs would be reduced gradually, and the vehicle tax relief for forestry and agriculture would remain in place. Nevertheless, the head of the farmers’ union, Joachim Rukwid, announced a week-long strike. On the same day, an angry mob of farmers attempted to block the arrival of a ferry carrying Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck.
