Russia has told Ecuador that handing over its equipment to the US would be an unfriendly move

The Russian embassy in Ecuador has notified the country’s authorities that the transfer of Russian and Ukrainian equipment to the US would be an unfriendly step. The Russian ambassador Vladimir Sprinchan said.

On air of TV channel “Russia 24” he stressed that the Russian side is checking the information that relates to military-technical cooperation between the countries, reports RIA Novosti.

According to the diplomat, the embassy has conveyed to the Ecuadorian government that sending this equipment is not necessary for the US. Sprinchan noted that the weapons are needed by the Ukrainian army, not Washington.

Earlier, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa said that he would hand over Russian-made equipment to the USA in exchange for new equipment totalling $200m.
