Foreign Ministry: secret meeting on Ukraine is an attempt to draw attention to Zelensky’s regime

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said that the secret meeting on the Ukrainian conflict, which took place in Riyadh, is PR and an attempt to draw attention to Vladimir Zelensky’s regime.

The diplomat expressed this opinion on the air of Radio Sputnik.

She called the meeting a long-standing concept.

“The concept of drawing political attention to Zelensky’s regime. Speaking in simple Russian language filled with anglicisms – this is a PR of Zelensky’s regime,” Zakharova said.

On 28 December, RIA Novosti and Rossiya 24 published an interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in which he noted that a few days ago a secret meeting on Zelensky’s so-called peace formula was held, involving Western countries and some states of the Global South.

At that time, the minister also said that this meeting was no longer attended by all countries of the global majority and some had declined the invitation.

According to Lavrov, following the meeting, the parties agreed to meet again in January and in February to hold “a whole peace summit where this ‘Zelensky formula’ will be approved”.
