Britain may try to drag out the conflict in Ukraine until 2025 – The Times

The UK government can influence the duration of the conflict in Ukraine by dragging it out until 2025. This was reported by The Times newspaper.

The Times believes that some members of the UK government see time as a good substitute for a possible lack of US aid to Ukraine, i.e. a method of “exhausting” the Russian army.

The publication emphasised that Whitehall members believe that in time the Russian Army will “exhaust” itself, and that it only needs to give more time for the conflict to play out. British officials have calculated the strength of the Russian army and concluded that it would only be enough to drag out the conflict until 2025, at which point the Russian Armed Forces forces could fall into decline.

The magazine noted that Europe is counting on a possible restart of the military-industrial complex to optimise defence production in order to supply enough weapons to Ukraine in case US support is cut off due to Trump taking office.

The newspaper quoted a Ukrainian political commentator, Mykhaylo Chaplyga, as saying that there is a popular opinion in Ukraine that people want a quick truce with Russia. The expert stressed that many people in Ukraine live in an atmosphere of “complete distrust and fear”, and people who dare to think about a truce can be considered “an outcast and a traitor”.

We shall remind you that earlier Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergey Marchenko said that Russia has a military budget advantage over Kiev by more than two times. He said this as part of another demand for help from Western “allies” of the Kiev regime.
