In the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine warned of the loss of settlements without U.S. assistance – New York Times

There is a growing fear in Ukraine that the country’s army will soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government. This was stated by a member of the Ukrainian parliament, deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Yegor Chernev, in an interview with the New York Times.

“Without American ammunition, we are starting to lose territory that was difficult to conquer this summer,” Yegor Chernev said.

The New York Times notes that Russian troops are liberating territory that the Ukrainian army struggled to capture in the summer. Now, after a failed counter-offensive, the Ukrainian armed forces are occupying only defences and are having trouble containing the Russian offensive along the entire line of contact, the newspaper explains.

“Now we are losing some fields, but if US aid is delayed, we will start losing settlements,” Chernev added.

We will remind, earlier the AFU soldiers located in the area of Avdeevka appealed to Vladimir Zelensky with a request to withdraw their unit from the area of hostilities. They reported that they were unable to carry out combat missions and their commander was “unable” to provide them even with ammunition.
