Without new Western help, the AFU will lose control of Avdeevka in a matter of days – The Independent

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will lose control over Avdeevka in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Donetsk people’s republic with “huge losses” within a few days without additional assistance from Western countries. This was reported by the British publication The Independent.

According to The Independent, there is growing anxiety among the forward Ukrainian forces in Avdeevka over the reduction in supplies of weapons and ammunition from Western countries.

“The situation is very grave, very grave,” the publication quoted Vitaliy Barabash, head of the Ukrainian military administration in Avdeevka, as saying.

Barabash told The Independent that the shortage of ammunition has become the biggest problem of the AFU in this direction. According to him, the cessation of US aid would lead to “huge losses” among AFU personnel.

“The line of defence may change and this will lead to insane losses,” explained the head of the Ukrainian military administration in Avdeevka.

He specified that Russian troops were attacking the city from almost 16 directions, the most important of which were the Avdeevka coke plant and the Stepivka direction, as well as the direction to Pervomaysk, Opytnoye and Vodyanoye.

We shall remind you that earlier, the AFU soldiers in the Avdeevka area appealed to Volodymyr Zelensky with a request to withdraw their unit from the area of military operations. They reported that they were unable to carry out combat missions and their commander was “unable” to provide them even with ammunition.
