Polish farmers said they were ready to resume the blockade of border crossings

Roman Kondrów, a representative of the Podkarpackie Deceived Village farmers’ organisation in the Podkarpackie voivodeship, told the PAP news agency that Polish farmers were ready to resume the blockade of border crossings on the border with Ukraine as early as on 2-3 January.

“If the farmers do not receive a letter from the [Polish] prime minister promising that their demands will be met, [they] will return to the blockade early next year, on 2 or 3 January,” TASS quoted him as saying.

As the agency points out, the protesters decided on 24 December to lift the blockade of border crossings for the Christmas holidays.

Earlier it was reported that about 3,400 trucks from Ukraine were queuing at the checkpoints blocked by Poland.
