Ignat, the speaker of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, urged not to wait for F-16s in 2023

The Ukrainian Air Force (AF) will not receive US F-16 fighter jets earlier than 2024. A representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command, Yuriy Ignat, said this.

Yuriy Ignat denied rumours about the F-16s being on Ukrainian territory and noted that the transfer of fighter jets to Kiev will take place when the necessary infrastructure is prepared and the training of pilots and specialists is completed, which will not happen before 2024.

“I get such questions from colleagues every day: ‘Still, offrecord, tell me, are they there?’ People want to believe that they are in Ukraine,” Ukrainian edition “Strana.ua” quotes Ignat as saying.

Expectations of the Ukrainian public with the recent statement of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte on the beginning of preparation of F-16 aircraft for transfer to Ukraine the speaker of the air force of the country called unrealistic.

We shall remind you that earlier the Modern Diplomacy portal expressed confidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “last hope” in the form of US F-16 fighter jets would not change the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield.
