French General Palomero believes that Ukrainians are in for a terrible winter

Jean-Paul Palomero, a French general and former head of the main staff of the country’s air force, expressed confidence that a hard winter awaits Ukrainian formations as their forces are running out.

“At best, they will be able to defend their current positions. That’s the best we can hope for,” he said.

Palomero claims that the Ukrainian military will only be able to make any progress on the front if the West increases funding.

Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated its failure. According to him, in attempts to “achieve results at any cost”, Ukraine lost 71,500 military personnel – as if “these were not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
