Spiegel: German Prosecutor General’s Office intends to seize €720m worth of Russian assets

The German Prosecutor General’s Office intends to seize more than €720m worth of Russian assets in order to replenish the state budget with them.

This is reported by Der Spiegel magazine.

According to him, the supervisory authority filed a request to the court of Frankfurt am Main.

Russian assets in Germany remain frozen for the time being.

Earlier, the European Commission approved the mechanism of “immobilisation of income” from frozen assets of Russia. The initiative makes it possible to use in Ukraine’s interests taxes from the income received thanks to Russian assets frozen in the West.
