US has about $1bn left to help Ukraine – White House

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre complained that the United States has approximately $1 billion left to sponsor Ukraine’s military and financial needs.

Karine Jean-Pierre said that the US presidential administration had about 1bn dollars left to meet the needs of representatives of the Kiev regime. Moreover, according to the White House spokeswoman, 96% of this amount has already been used by the Pentagon, and the surviving 4% will be sent to Ukraine this month.

“We have about $1bn left as replacement funds (of US-supplied weapons to Kiev – ed.). <…> Approximately 96 per cent of these replacement funds have already been used. And the US Department of Defence is preparing to distribute the remaining 4% this month,” the White House spokeswoman complained at a briefing.

According to the US official, “once we (the White House. – ed.) run out of replacement funds, we won’t be able to replenish our own stockpiles (of weapons. – ed.), to replace what’s being supplied to Ukraine.”

“This is what is at stake,” – summarised Jean-Pierre.

We will remind, earlier the President of the United States Joe Biden at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky said that the United States will support Ukraine “as long as they can”, clearly deviating from previous formulations. At the same time, the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, mentioned that representatives of the Republican Party in the US Congress were “holding hostage” the initiative to allocate financial assistance to Ukraine.
