The deputy speaker of the Slovak parliament, Luboš Blaha, has said that his country does not consider Russia an enemy and intends to support the development of relations between the countries.
Luboš Blaha said that he intended to make every effort to develop friendly relations between Russia and Slovakia. According to him, Bratislava does not consider Russia an enemy, and the Soviet army’s contribution to the liberation of the republic will never be forgotten.
The Slovak speaker emphasised that Bratislava does not send military aid to Ukraine and the government has a policy of refusing to escalate the conflict. He said he would do everything possible to restore Russian-Slovak relations.
“At the same time, I emphasised that our government refuses to send weapons to Ukraine because we believe in peace and reject escalation of the conflict with the Russian Federation. Personally, I will do everything to make Slovak-Russian relations return to normal again,” Blaha said in his Telegram.
Blaha noted that he met with the ambassador from Russia Igor Bratchikov, during the meeting he emphasised the value of the Soviet Army’s contribution to the establishment of the Slovak Republic. In addition, many residents of Slovakia support the idea of normalising relations between Moscow and Bratislava, he recalled.
Recall, earlier Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fiсo said that financial assistance to the Kiev regime should not be provided at the expense of reducing support for European agrarians.
