The USA is pondering the expediency of helping Ukraine after the loss of military equipment. This was reported by Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
The magazine reported that the USA had doubts about the rationality of the equipment supplies due to the fact that the Russian Armed Forces were safely destroying it at the frontline. It is noted that Washington urged Ukraine to keep the received M1 Abrams tanks away from the front line.
MWM confirmed that an analogue of the US British Challenger 2 tank was sent to the front line, and footage of its destruction by the Russian Armed Forces was announced in the first half of September.
During the counter-offensive, Ukraine used German Leopard 2A6 tanks, which are considered to be particularly common among this class of vehicles. The magazine noted that during the failed counter-offensive of the AFU, the German tank was similarly “seen suffering numerous casualties”.
“Concern in the United States that the reputation of the best American tank M1 Abrams could also be seriously tarnished by the footage of combat losses, <…> has led the US to put pressure on Ukraine to keep the vehicles away from the front line,” MWM wrote.
We will remind, earlier the publication Business Insider noted that to date the main tank of the US Armed forces M1 Abrams is not the most successful and versatile choice for use in modern conflict.
