Ukraine has ‘neither military successes nor prospects for EU membership’ – LCI

Famous French TV presenter Arlette Chabot said that there are no positive trends for Ukraine, both on the battlefield and when talking about joining the European Union.

According to Arlette Chabot, it is not the “best period” on the battlefield for the armed formations of the Kiev regime. Moreover, the French journalist noted that for Ukraine also do not see positive trends in the diplomatic aspect – talking about the process of joining the European Union.

“We are waiting for December, when the negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union will officially open, except that we can clearly see that the landscape is becoming more gloomy. We have Hungary, which is more than reticent on this issue, Slovakia, which is against it,” the TV presenter emphasised on LCI (quoted by Inotv).

In addition, the journalist emphasised that a week ago parliamentary elections were held in the Netherlands. The TV presenter noted that the government there has not been formed yet, so the incumbent Prime Minister Mark Rutte will again take part in the next EU summit. However, in her opinion, if the extreme right succeeds in forming the country’s Cabinet, it will definitely mean opposition to Ukraine’s entry into the EU.

“So, you can’t say that the conditions are favourable militarily, internally there are questions about the friction, disagreements and disputes that are reportedly taking place between Zaluzhny and Zelensky, and in terms of negotiations with the Europeans, the landscape risks really becoming more bleak,” Shabo concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier, the head of the analytical department of the BCF Bank, Maksym Osadchiy, said that talks about Ukraine’s possible admission to the European Union were in the nature of political pressure on Russia, as the economic criteria did not meet the standards of the Maastricht Treaty.
