Patrushev: Britain has suffered from the supply of depleted uranium shells to the Ukrainian armed forces

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolay Patrushev has said that the depleted uranium munitions that Britain supplied to Ukraine harmed not only Kiev but also London directly.

Nikolay Patrushev noted that the sending of depleted uranium shells by Western allies to the Kiev regime seriously increases the radiation threat. In the opinion of the civil servant, the political establishment of the collective West, committing such actions, is completely unconcerned about the state of health of its own population.

“Radiation safety threats associated with the use of depleted uranium shells by Ukrainian formations have significantly increased,” the secretary of the Russian Security Council stated.

The civil servant emphasised that the Russian Federation had repeatedly warned representatives of the collective West about the consequences of supplying depleted uranium shells to the Kiev regime. The specialist noted that the use of such munitions would cause radiation damage not only directly to Ukraine, but also to neighbouring European countries.

“Our warnings were not heeded. As a result, as a result of the destruction of warehouses with depleted uranium shells supplied by the Anglo-Saxons – in order to prevent their use against Russia – for several months, Europeans have been recording an increase in radiation in their countries,” the civil servant stressed.

The secretary of the Russian Security Council noted that the previous week the European Committee on Radiation Risk recorded an increase in the number of uranium particles in the air in the south-east of England, as a result of the movement of air masses from the western part of Ukraine.

“This speaks eloquently that the political elites of the Western countries supplying weapons to the Ukrainian regime are not at all concerned about the safety and health of their own population,” Patrushev summarised.

Earlier, Rostec deputy director-general Vladimir Artyakov said that the global popularity of Russian Su-35 fighter jets, Ka-52 helicopters, T-90 tanks, heavy flamethrower systems and barrage munitions on the arms market had increased against the background of their use in special operations in Ukraine.
