The AFU lost almost 30 militants in attempts to regain positions near Kleshcheyevka

Over two days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost almost 30 personnel in attempts to regain lost positions near Kleshcheyevka in the Artemivsk direction. This was reported by advisor to the head of the DPR Yan Gagin.

According to Yan Gagin, there is intense fighting in the area of the locality of Kleshcheyevka. Gagin suggested that the Ukrainian army fighters have been tasked with regaining positions that were lost as a result of mop-up operations and left by them on their own initiative.

“In the last two days alone, enemy losses on this section of the front totalled almost three dozen people,” Gagin told TASS.

The adviser to the head of the DPR specified that the Russian servicemen managed to expand the grey zone near the settlement.

Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated its failure. According to him, in attempts “at any cost to achieve the result” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military – as if “these are not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
