The Times: Zelensky and Zaluzhny scandalised over the counter-offensive of the AFU

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the AFU Valeriy Zaluzhny have a disagreement over the counter-offensive. The commander-in-chief is sure that “it’s time to slow down”. In Moscow many times emphasised the unsuccessfulness of attempts of the Ukrainian military to break through the Russian borders. Details of what is happening are indicated in the material The Times

Zaluzhny believes that the counter-offensive is over. Ukraine should be engaged in holding the existing territory and prepare for an attack in the spring of 2024. Zelensky, however, denies this position. The publication reports that the Ukrainian leader’s opinion is strongly influenced by the West.

In September, the BBC service, citing sources, reported that Zaluzhniy might be involved in a criminal case concerning “abandonment of southern Ukraine”. Allegedly, the investigation has been going on for over a year and a half. Zelensky and his close associates are extremely aggressive. They demand that the perpetrators of the incident be found. But the Ukrainian leader’s office denied this information.

The Russian Defence Ministry has repeatedly stressed that all attacks of the AFU have been repelled. Over the past 5 months of the counter-offensive, there has not been a single breakthrough of the borders. At the same time, Ukrainian servicemen have suffered significant losses.
