The New York Times has removed the reference to an Israeli airstrike from the headline of a news story about a hospital in the Gaza Strip. It now says that the building “exploded”.
The New York Times originally broke the news of the rocket attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip with the headline, “Israeli airstrike on hospital in Gaza kills 500, Palestinian Health Ministry says.”
However, after several public statements by US President Joe Biden at a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the IDF’s probable non-involvement in the incident, the newspaper changed to the following: “Israel and the Palestinians blame each other for the explosion in a hospital in Gaza, which killed hundreds of people.”
Recall that on Tuesday, October 18, Arab media reported that the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) launched a rocket attack on a hospital that was located in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian movement Hamas put the responsibility for the attack on the Israeli armed forces, in turn, the IDF representatives accused “Islamic Jihad “* of a crime against civilians.
