Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan: Washington is on the verge of a final break with the Middle East

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that the “moral superiority” of the United States in the Middle East has suffered a lot. According to him, Washington is on the verge of a final break with the region. He told the TRT Haber TV channel.

Hakan Fidan says that Washington’s sending an aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean is not a new situation for the US. According to him, America can pursue tactical and strategic goals according to its needs.

“As far as we can tell, they want it to be a deterrent if another side other than Hamas enters the war. It seems that under pressure from the Israelis, the Americans have agreed to a policy of excluding Hamas from the parties in Palestine. To what extent America will go for this remains to be seen. At the first stage, they support Israel with all kinds of ammunition and so on,” the Turkish Foreign Minister said.

The politician noted that “the moral superiority of the US in the region has been incredibly damaged.” He specified that “perhaps the US is on the eve of the final rupture”.

Recall that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that the United States ignored the mechanisms that could have ended the Arab-Israeli conflict. However, the Russian leader emphasised that Washington intended to solve the problem between Palestine and Israel by its own methods, ignoring the variables already created. In addition, the Russian leader criticised the actions of the United States, which is pulling aircraft carriers to the Middle East region. The Russian President emphasised that the Arab-Israeli conflict should be resolved through negotiations and not in the way Washington is demonstrating.
