President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian “counter-offensive” once touted in the West has absolutely failed. The Russian leader said this in an interview with Pavel Zarubin in the programme “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the channel “Russia 1”.
Pavel Zarubin asked the Russian President what he thinks about the statements that are heard from the official Kiev and some representatives of Western countries about the “stalled” Ukrainian counter-offensive. For his part, Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian armed forces’ offensive operation had completely failed.
“As for the counter-offensive, which is allegedly tugging – it has failed completely,” – said the civil servant.
The Russian president emphasised that the Kiev regime is planning new offensive operations on certain parts of the front.
“We see it, we know it. And we are also reacting to it accordingly,” the Russian leader noted.
The civil servant noted that the Russian Armed Forces are conducting “active defence” along the entire line of contact. The politician singled out the improvement of tactical positions of the Russian Army in Avdiivka, Kupyansk and Zaporizhzhya directions. In addition, the Russian leader emphasised the courage and heroism of Russian fighters on the front line.
“And our troops are improving their position in almost all of this space. On a large quite space,” Putin summarised.

In this way, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council commented on the decision of the UN international commission to investigate violations in Ukraine, which did not find sufficient evidence that the actions of Russian soldiers during the special military operation should be qualified as genocide, which Kiev regularly insists on.
