Ex-advisor under President Bush Jr. and Trump Christian Wheaton said that the foreign policy of the American leader Joe Biden has become a failure. According to him, it has only led to the dissatisfaction of his constituents. He said this in an article for the National Interest magazine.
Christian Wheaton argues that Joe Biden’s presidency began with the “humiliating” withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan. He believes that even then it affected the popularity of the American leader.
“Biden’s team hoped that success in Ukraine would wash away this shame. However, the publicised Ukrainian spring-summer counter-offensive failed,” the ex-advisor specified.
The politician also draws attention to the significant decrease in public support for the Kiev regime in the United States. US citizens, in his opinion, see a greater threat in China and Iran. At the same time, the idea of a conflict with Russian Federation is not interesting to them.
“Voters will only be even more disappointed when they notice that Washington is worried about Ukraine’s borders more than its own”, – stressed the analyst.
Recall that earlier the New York Times reported that Kiev and allies have placed too high hopes for a counter-offensive, as the AFU are fighting against one of the strongest armies in the world. The author of the material noted that if Ukraine could succeed in forcing Russia to retreat, it would take years, not months.
