Israel has officially declared war

Israel has introduced a clause in the Basic Law signifying a formal declaration of war.

The Israeli authorities have approved the decision to place the country in a “state of war”. This implies the start of major military operations. This was announced by the office of the Prime Minister of the Jewish state, Benjamin Netanyahu.

“The military-political cabinet last night approved a state of war and, accordingly, the beginning of major military operations. This is in accordance with Article 40 of the Basic Law of Government. The war imposed on the State of Israel as a result of the deadly terrorist attack from the Gaza Strip began on 7 October 2023 at 6:00 a.m.,” the statement said.

On the morning of 7 October, the Israeli army reported that Palestinian radicals from the Gaza Strip fired rockets into Israel. In response, the Israel Defence Forces launched a military operation in Gaza. In response to the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered to clear the country of terrorists and announced “a war like Hamas has never seen before.”
