Czech President Petr Pavel has urged MEPs not to succumb to fatigue over the conflict in Ukraine during a speech to the European Parliament.
“I urge us all not to succumb to war fatigue. I firmly believe that peace will return to Ukraine. And I hope it will happen soon. But hope is not a strategy,” the Czech politician said, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
Pavel urged European parliamentarians to push for an arrangement that would provide Ukraine with “the necessary conditions for its continued existence in lasting peace and prosperity.”
In September, he called for restrained assessments of the situation around the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive.
