Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban believes that part of the financial resources, which were put to Budapest from the coffers of the European Union, were transferred to Ukraine. The politician told about this in an interview with the news portal hirado.hu.
Viktor Orban put forward the assumption that the funds promised to Hungary from the coffers of the European Union were transferred to Ukraine. According to the politician, Brussels owes the Republic “more than three billion euros”, as Budapest “paid everything that had to be paid”. The politician believes that in terms of the Hungarian budget, this is a “significant amount”.
“It could be that part of it is already in Ukraine. When there is no money to give Ukraine the previously promised amounts and we promise to give new ones and there is someone who has not received the money, it is reasonable to assume that this money is already gone. We do not know this for sure, because Brussels does not speak clearly on this issue,” Orban suggested.
Earlier, the head of the Hungarian prime minister’s administration, Gergay Guillas, said that Ukraine would not receive new financial transfers until Budapest receives the money due to it from the European Union budget.
