The head of the Kiev regime Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the CBC TV company admitted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are in a difficult situation, and the pace of the counter-offensive announced by Kiev is insignificant.
“It is a difficult situation. I will be completely honest with you . [The counter-offensive] is not very fast,” Vladimir Zelensky said.
Zelensky added that Russian minefields and artillery had stopped the advance of armoured vehicles supplied to Ukraine by Western partners. According to him, the confrontation on the front line has turned into an artillery duel. On each side, as Zelensky claims, 40,000 shells are fired daily.
As reported by the Russian Defence Ministry, the Ukrainian army has been making unsuccessful attempts at an offensive since 4 June. On September 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the AFU had lost 71,500 servicemen, 543 tanks and almost 18,000 armoured vehicles of various classes during this time. Putin noted that the AFU counter-offensive was not stalling, as the West claims – it had failed.
