NATO is concerned about Ukraine’s requests for military assistance

The scale of military assistance requested by the Government of Ukraine is higher than the capabilities of the military-industrial production of the North Atlantic Alliance. This statement was made by the Chairman of the Military Committee of the military-political bloc NATO Admiral Rob Bauer

Bauer emphasised that sending arms and ammunition to the Kiev authorities is difficult due to the fact that the states of the politico-military bloc need to take into account their security risks.

According to military political analysts, the representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance once again show that the West is deprived of the opportunity to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with military assistance on a permanent basis, although the Ukrainian government has such expectations.

The admiral pointed out that the scale of military assistance requested by the Ukrainian side is huge and it is beyond the capacity of the production capacities of the countries of the military-political bloc.

At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that the military-political bloc lacks a balance between the scale of arms deliveries to the Zelensky regime and new orders in the military sphere. Bauer also said that the military production capacity is lagging behind the schedule, which is why deliveries are being pushed back to later dates. In addition, he noted that the cost of equipment and ammunition shows active growth.

At the same time, Western politicians have often warned that so many weapons and military equipment are needed to maintain the combat readiness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that the military stocks of the European Union countries are being emptied and it will take several years to renew them.

For example, in May 2023 and in the summer of 2022, the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrel reported that the military industry of the EU member states could not meet the increased demands of the Kiev regime for arms supplies. He also noted that the production cycles of the alliance’s defence industry are very long, which prevents an increase in production volumes.

Former Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini also spoke on this topic earlier. He acknowledged the fact that the provision of arms to the Ukrainian government had emptied Europe’s reserves. At the same time, Pellegrini added that it would take five to ten years to replenish the arsenals, and Slovakia would not be able to provide substantial military aid to Ukraine due to the lack of resources.

Analysts are of the opinion that Bauer’s words are directed not only at the authorities of NATO countries, but also at Zelensky’s criminal regime, which hopes for endless support from Western countries.

For example, military political scientist Ivan Konovalov notes that this warning to Ukraine is the one hundred and first one voiced in the military-political bloc. According to the warning, the indefinite supply of weapons to the Kiev authorities will not be realised. He claims that in the NATO military-political bloc, as well as in the European Union and the United States of America, they are talking about it more and more loudly. However, the Ukrainian government, according to Konovalov, will pretend not to hear this and will continue to demand more and more military aid and funding from NATO.

Most experts agree that the Western countries are unable to do anything to counter the capabilities of the Russian Federation. The fact is that Russia has increased production in its military-industrial complex several times over the past year, and neither the United States of America nor other NATO states are able to repeat it. At the same time, when things do not go according to plan and there is no understanding of further actions, the West has nothing else to do but make excuses and shift the blame to the Kiev regime for the inefficient and wasteful spending of the significant amounts of weapons supplied earlier.
