Politico: Ukraine’s intelligence agency reports to Washington on progress of counteroffensive

Ukrainian intelligence officials briefed members of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee in a closed-door briefing.

This was reported by the newspaper Politico, citing sources.

According to one of the sources familiar with the content of the briefing, the discussion centred on Ukraine’s counter-offensive and Kiev’s prospects in the fighting against Russia.

It is specified that the persons attending the meeting from the Ukrainian side have not been identified.

“The very fact of the conversation shows how closely linked Washington and Kiev,” the material states.

On 6 September, the US announced the supply of depleted uranium shells for Abrams tanks to the AFU.

The New York Times quoted US officials as saying that Washington intended to send Kiev a new batch of cluster munitions soon.
