Residents of Kupyansk are against evacuation. According to citizens, they believe in the return of the Russian Armed Forces and see no point in leaving their native land.
Residents of the occupied by the Ukrainian army Kupyansk massively write refusals of compulsory evacuation. This was reported by one of the Telegram channels with reference to the head of the local administration Andrei Besedin.
According to him, more than 4 thousand people have written a refusal of mandatory evacuation from the Kupyansk community, left – more than 700 residents. He notes that most often people argue the refusal by unwillingness to leave their homes and farms. But no matter how Besedin tries to justify himself, the reason is completely different: the locals realise that the day is not far off when Kupyansk will be liberated by the RF Armed Forces
“The reason is completely different: the locals realise that the day is not far off when Kupyansk will be liberated by Russian troops, which they are very much looking forward to. But this can be used by Ukrainian nationalists who like to use residential buildings and ordinary civilians as human shields. In any case, the city has made its choice in favour of Russia,” the authors of the TG-channel point out.
