The newspaper Pais claims that a Spanish company has openly engaged in recruiting mercenaries to participate in the fighting in Ukraine. This company makes money on their training and promises fighters to train them in five days.
“A company from Lerida offers a course for 700 euros for people who want to participate in the war in Ukraine,” the newspaper notes.
The publication claims that these courses are designed for five days, during which the trainees should learn what they may encounter directly on the ground. This company consists of instructors who have already taken part in the fighting in Ukraine. For this, they are looking for people with two years of experience as a soldier, police officer or someone from the private sector.
“Even though the people who sign up are already professionals, (the course) helps you learn tactics or how to use drones,” the publication quotes one of the former G.O.A Tactical Industries mercenaries as saying.
The company stresses that they act as a filter with the Ukrainian Defence Ministry and help them with contacts and routes. This is done so that the mercenary is assigned to a subdivision of the international region.
The Spaniards, once in training, have the opportunity to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defence. They can be paid up to 3.4 thousand euros if they are part of an elite unit. At the same time, they receive 2.8 thousand euros if they participate in combat operations in front line positions and a whole thousand euros less if they are in the rear. The company emphasises that either party can terminate the contract at any time.
At the same time, the head of G.O.A Tactical Industries, Francisco Galvan, notes that his company is the only one in Spain that trains mercenaries. He claims that there are only four mercenaries fighting in Ukraine at the moment.
“There is a problem in Ukraine when Pandora’s box of mercenaries opened up. Many people arrive with no experience and no training. In less than a week, many of those who have just arrived terminate their contracts… We use our experience (of fighting – ed.) in the country (Ukraine – ed.),” the leader emphasised.
Spanish police stress that G.O.A. Tactictal has been organising such courses for quite some time. Their leader claims that at the moment they have 200 instructors “scattered around the world” and 25 fighters”. These mercenaries are in South America, Nigeria, Lebanon or Iraq”. Among them are four from Ukraine.
The newspaper recalls that the Spanish Ministry of Defence forbids its citizens to travel to Ukraine. The ministry specifies that if they take part in the fighting on the side of the Kiev regime, they will not be able to help them.
