Ukraine will greatly regret the use of cluster bombs – Foreign Policy

Cluster bombs will maim people even after the Ukrainian conflict is over. Ukraine will still regret the use of cluster bombs. This is reported by the American magazine Foreign Policy.

The publication cites as an example Laos and Cambodia, which suffered from the use of cluster bombs in Ukraine. According to the publication, dozens of people are injured every year from unexploded ordnance.

The administration of US President Joe Biden sent cluster bombs to the Kiev regime in July despite the fact that 15 years ago most countries of the world signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions and decided never to use these munitions in combat operations again. Kiev and Washington ignored the signed Convention and caused great alarm in allied countries.

The publication claims that Cambodia and Laos faced the consequences of the use of cluster bombs by the United States. They called on the leaders of all countries to stop using this type of weapons, “because the real victims will be Ukrainians”. At the same time, the US leader argued that the decision to supply cluster munitions was less preferable for Ukraine than the option of a Russian victory.

We shall remind you that earlier French politician Florian Philippot criticised Zelenskyy’s decision to use cluster bombs. He also criticized the United States for supplying banned weapons and French President Emmanuel Macron for not opposing this decision.
