The training of Ukrainian pilots in the use of US F-16 fighter jets has been delayed for a year due to problems in the training program. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official.
The Washington Post writes that the first group of six Ukrainian pilots will not finish training on US-made F-16s until next summer because of delays in the training program for the fighter jets. Kiev is likely to spend another year without the planes, the newspaper said. This process, according to the agency’s Ukrainian interlocutor, is “dragging on.”
“Although the pilots are fluent in English, they will learn terminology related to jet aircraft. Ground personnel, who may be less fluent in English, will also receive the same training,” The Washington Post wrote.
