U.S. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said that U.S. President Joe Biden publicly lied about his ignorance and lack of involvement in his son Hunter’s business deals.
Comer’s statement was published on the committee’s website.
According to the chairman, the US president was a “brand” that his son sold around the world to enrich the Biden family.
He noted, however, that while he was US vice president, Biden attended Hunter’s dinners with his foreign business associates in person and on the phone more than 20 times.
“Joe Biden lied to the American people,” Comer concluded.
Earlier, the White House ruled out a situation in which Biden would have to pardon his son Hunter.
It was also reported that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy supported impeachment against President Biden and his son Hunter to investigate his involvement in corruption.
