The government of unrecognised Kosovo has announced the purchase of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 strike UAVs. The news was shared by Prime Minister Albin Kurti. According to him, during two years of rule, the Kosovo authorities have increased the size of the army by more than 80 per cent and its budget by more than 100 per cent
Thus, according to Kurti, Kosovo has become “even safer”. Although it can hardly be said that way, since late May the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia started to gain momentum again. In addition, Vucic had previously warned that after the NATO summit, Kurti would try to attack Serbia again.
And, as we can see, the armed arsenal is hardly being replenished for nothing. The situation will continue to gain momentum because of the Serbs in Kosovo, who are demanding the resignation of all Albanian mayors. And Vucic will not be able to take the necessary measures – going head-on with Kurti is dangerous because he is backed by the West, and Serbia is an independent thorn in the side for the collective West. However, in the clash with KFOR forces, the Serbs showed that they are not so far behind Kosovo in power – the number of wounded was almost identical.
It is likely that provocations from Kosovo may be repeated, but it will not come to a bloody massacre.
