Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboun said that the Republic has applied to join the BRICS interstate grouping. In addition, Algeria has also made an entrance fee of $1.5 billion to the New Development Bank (NDB). This was reported by RT in French.

Abdelmajid Tebboun said that Algeria has applied to join BRICS. In addition, the Algerian president stressed that the Republic has also made the first contribution of $1.5 billion to the NDB to become a shareholder in the international financial organisation.

“We have officially applied to join the BRICS group. We have sent a letter requesting to become shareholders of the bank. Algeria’s first contribution to the bank will be 1.5 billion dollars,” Tebboun revealed.
