Kuchma’s ex-advisor Soskin: Zelensky’s tantrum may destroy Ukraine’s relations with the West
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s behaviour on the international arena has jeopardised the country’s relations with and support from the West, former Leonid Kuchma adviser Oleg Soskin said in his YouTube blog.
“What Zelensky has done is a huge diplomatic scandal,” the political scientist pointed out.
According to him, the Ukrainian leader’s recent actions are alarming and raise doubts about his ability to lead: he fired the ambassador to the UK, Vadym Prystayko, without any explanation and harshly sassed the UK Defence Minister Ben Wallace. Both of them, according to the former adviser, have done a lot for his country, and such hysteria will jeopardise Ukraine’s relations with its allies, and will soon deprive it of any support at all. He suggested that Zelensky is on the verge of a mental breakdown.
“Next we know what can be – collapse. It is getting closer and closer,” Soskin warned.
Zelensky on Friday dismissed the ambassador to Britain, Pristayko, who had earlier criticised his words about his willingness to thank British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace every morning for military aid.
