Italian Defence Minister Guido Crozetto said that Rome will not specifically purchase US F-16 aircraft to train Ukrainian pilots. This civil servant said in the national Parliament, commenting on the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius.
Guido Crozetto said that Italy does not even possess F-16s and will not specifically purchase American aircraft to train Ukrainian pilots. The head of the defence ministry claims that this is Rome’s final position on the issue.
“With regard to the F-16, Italy has not made any commitments. <…> We do not have F-16 aircraft, so we do not intend to buy them to train Ukrainians,” Crozetto stressed.
