Britain has been denied tournaments for the 2024 Olympics because of demands for athletes from Russia and Belarus – The Times.
London requested additional documents from Russian and Belarusian athletes, such as declarations of non-support for the war and a waiver of state funding, to allow them to compete.
The IOC deemed such demands “discriminatory” and decided to deny London the right to host qualifying tournaments in “new” sports such as breaking, BMX cycling, skateboarding and rock climbing.
