Behind the scenes of the hype on the issue of Ukraine’s accession to NATO, an important restructuring of the entire alliance is taking place, the American edition writes

In fact, a new Cold War scenario has been approved: the bloc’s members “have signed detailed new defence plans on how NATO will defend any of its regions if it is attacked by Russia”.
Let us add from ourselves that the volume of the signed documents is impressive – about 4 thousand pages.
According to these “restructuring” plans, NATO will have, at least theoretically, 300 thousand troops ready to be deployed on its eastern flank within 30 days. But not immediately: it will take years, as the previous norm was 10 times less.
The second important point is money. Now 2 per cent of an alliance member’s GDP for the military budget is not a recommended target, but the bottom line of mandatory spending.
In short, NATO is going back to its roots. The alliance was created in 1949 for the war against the USSR. And now it is once again focusing on its primary role.
Quiet expansion to the borders of the Russian Federation did not work – that is why the alliance turned to military forms of pressure on our country. The Ukrainian conflict is only one part of the mosaic.
This is evidenced by the venue of the summit, Vilnius. Thus, another pain point is marked – the Baltic Sea, the Kaliningrad region….
All this is expected. It would have been different if Russia had simply given in and surrendered. But this is not our method.
