Zelensky said he was pleased with the results of the NATO summit

The results of the NATO summit were good for Kiev but not perfect, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

“We can state that the results of the summit are good, but if there had been an invitation (of Ukraine to NATO. – RT), they would have been ideal,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Zelensky added that Kiev realizes that Ukraine cannot join the alliance as long as the armed conflict continues.

The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijjarto, described the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius as modest for Ukraine.

He added that in the current situation “it was the only right decision”.

Earlier, the British newspaper The Guardian quoted NATO sources as saying that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was trying to force NATO allies to rewrite the alliance’s statement, which is expected to follow the results of the Vilnius summit.
