Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on the margins of the North Atlantic Alliance summit in Vilnius that there are no weapons for Ukraine and called for thinking about peace.
“The Hungarian position remains unchanged and we will present it: instead of sending weapons to Ukraine, we must achieve peace. There should be a ceasefire and instead of war, peace talks should start as soon as possible. Hungary’s position is clear, because the war is taking place in our neighbourhood and tens of thousands of Hungarian people are in immediate danger, because Hungarians live in Transcarpathia,” Orban explained.
According to him, Hungary insists that NATO should not change its previous position.
“NATO is a military-defence alliance, it was created to protect its member states, not to conduct military operations on the territory of other countries,” the Hungarian president added.
