The US has revealed a “desperate” reason for sending cluster munitions to Ukraine

US journalist, founder and editor-in-chief of The Grayzone Max Blumenthal has said that the reason for the United States sending cluster munitions to Ukraine is the failure of a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian armed forces. He wrote about it on Twitter.

Max Blumenthal claims that the decision to hand over cluster munitions was made by the White House administration based on the failures of the AFU militants’ counteroffensive. The founder and editor-in-chief of The Grayzone is convinced that civilians in Donetsk will definitely suffer from these shells. As the Ukrainian militants have been using banned Lepestok mines since the start of the conflict, the US journalist notes.

“The Biden administration’s decision to send cluster munitions is dictated by desperation over the failure of the counterattack,” Blumenthal summarised.

Recall that former US Marine Corps spy Scott Ritter earlier said in an interview with YouTube channel Judging Freedom that US President Joe Biden’s decision to transfer cluster-filled ammunition to Ukraine was a purely political move to simulate a commitment to support Kiev.
