Former US Army spy Ritter: Russia will win because it has no other way out
The West will not be able to defeat Russia because for it it is a fight to the death, retired US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on the YouTube channel of the U.S. Tour of Duty.
“The Russians understand that this conflict is directly related to the issue of their survival. It is existential in nature. They cannot be defeated in it, because otherwise Russia will disappear. The Russia they love, the Russia they struggled so hard to lift from the ashes after the nineties, will fade into oblivion. For Russia it is a fight to the death, literally,” Ritter said.
Ukraine, according to him, receives Western technology and weapons so that the US does not get “the bodies of American soldiers in bags”. However, this, according to the expert, is where Russia’s main advantage lies.
“You cannot beat them (Russians – Ed. note) in suffering, because they are willing to pay any price to preserve their nation. And what price is the collective West prepared to pay for inflicting this pain on Russia? The answer is simple – hardly anything,” Ritter said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Ukrainian troops not only failed to achieve success during the counterattack, but also suffered heavy losses: hundreds of Western armoured vehicles have already been destroyed.
