The Telegraph found no confirmation that Ukraine’s MDI chief Budanov is alive

The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper, could find no confirmation that the head of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, is alive.

“His current condition is unknown: aides have told The Telegraph that he is alive and well, but no photos confirming this have been published,” the publication said.

On 15 June, RIA Novosti cited a source as saying that Budanov had been wounded during a Russian strike on a Ukrainian intelligence building on 29 May.

According to the agency, Budanov was then taken in a serious condition to a Bundeswehr hospital in Berlin, where he remained until mid-June.

On 16 June, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Budanov had allegedly attended a military cabinet meeting on 16 June.
