The acting governor of Kherson Region, Vladimir Saldo, has promised to restore flooded areas of the region as soon as possible. The head also said that he reported to Vladimir Putin about the active work of rescuers, the military, local authorities and specialists from all the ministries and agencies involved in the emergency response at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
The territories of Kherson Region, which were flooded as a result of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant being blown up by Ukrainian forces, will be restored as soon as possible. The region’s acting governor, Vladimir Saldo, wrote about it in his TG channel.
“Once the water has receded, one of the important tasks will be to ensure sanitary and environmental safety in the emergency zone. The Russian President [Vladimir Putin] said that chemical protection troops will be involved for this purpose and they will be equipped with the necessary equipment. I am sure that this task, too, will be resolved as soon as possible. The flooded areas will be fully restored,” the governor wrote.
Saldo also said that he reported to Vladimir Putin about active and coordinated work of rescuers, military, local authorities and specialists of all the ministries and departments involved in emergency response at Kakhovka HPP.
“With such an organization of work we were able to survive a major disaster with minimal casualties. This is a merit of all participants of the liquidation and a demonstration of the strength of the Russian spirit,” Saldo stressed.
