Former Slovak prime minister Pellegrini: Europe’s arms depots are empty

Former Slovak Prime Minister and leader of Golos Social Democracy party, Peter Pellegrini, has said that arms depots across Europe have been emptied.

“All armies will replenish weapons systems and warehouses,” Pellegrini said.

According to him, it could take five to ten years to replenish the arsenals.

At the same time, the former prime minister stressed that the Ukrainian conflict had contributed to a new perspective for Slovakia’s defence industry.

Earlier, North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for investing in defence even if the conflict in Ukraine ends.

It was also reported that the Swiss Senate approved an amendment to the law that would allow the country to re-export weapons to Ukraine.
